General description
A professional dental cleaning, also known as "dental prophylaxis", is the most important odontological procedure to prevent some diseases and alterations in the mouth area.

Benefits
We tend to believe that having an occasional professional dental cleaning is enough; that is wrong. The idea is to have a cleaning every 6 months. We have to keep in mind that a dental cleaning is basically a preventive procedure but is not enough to fight and eliminate caries and other problems that develop with time.
